Rumor: Digg’s algorithm is gone!

There’s a rumor going around from user-to-user that digg’s algorithm has been removed and selection of posts is no more automated. Earlier, It automatically sets you to hit front page after a submission reaches a certain amount of diggs within an average time and depending how many friends and non friends have dugg it. These days, it is said that front pages are humanally (aka manually) selected… Do you think this rumor is true or false? The rumor has not been confirmed but who knows… Maybe too much competition has came upon digg where they just have to pick the best of the best things to come out on top.
If you checked out each section of digg, you’ll notice how spaced out they are, compared to before.. When looking at gaming, there used to be like an article every 30 minutes-3 hours… Now it takes 1 hour – 4 hours interval.. Just take a look at digg’s traffic for past few months , the traffic rank is struggling and of course digg didn’t want to lose traffic .So, this might be a preventive action from their side. This will help digg to bring quality articles and there won’t be so much craps on frontpage.
Kevin Rose knew very well that if they can bring good articles to the top, more people will check out digg ![]()

No, Digg is not losing traffic because the June section of the graph shows a significant improvement over the past..

Even without a strong proof I would tend to believe this based on the principle of least surprise. In my mind Digg, and Zynga too, is just plain lowlife sleazy.
